Venus Williams has always been focused and accomplished in her goals. Attainments in the worlds of tennis and fashion are two of the areas the Grand-Slam champion can list among her accomplishments. And like so many dynamic individuals, Venus Williams is not one to ‘rest on her laurels’. She has launched the Glam collection as part of her EleVen clothing line which features athleisure and tennis apparel.

The Glam collection’s color palette consists softer tones and strong colors – navy, white, pink and melon as well as metallic pieces and accents. The inspiration for the color choices speaks to the philosophy of the brand. In an interview with Yahoo Sports, Williams stated that: “By mixing soft and strong colors throughout each piece, we were able to create a powerful yet feminine vibe that embodies the essence of an EleVen woman. The bold designs are inspired by the bold women that wear them!”

There are so many stylish pieces in the EleVen clothing line overall, that if you aren’t currently active they may serve as a motivation to do so! The skirts and tops may get you to pull that tennis racket out from the back of your closet and the leggings may give you the final bit of motivation needed to check out the yoga classes you’ve been thinking about attending.
Venus Williams launched the EleVen clothing line in 2007 so the fashion brand is well established. There are celebrity clothing lines that have minimal input from the famous person or the celebrity brands may have little relevance to the celebrity. But EleVen is a celebrity fashion brand that reflects Venus William’s experiences and credentials. Aside from her obvious athletic qualifications to launch a sportswear and athleisure clothing brand, Williams also studied fashion design at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Indiana University East.
The Glam collection is only the most recent launch of a collection through her EleVen clothing line. She has launched over 45 collections since the debut of the EleVen clothing line including the Neon Dreams collection launched at 2020 Australian Open in Melbourne

You can look stylish whether you are working out at the gym, attending a yoga class or playing a few sets on the tennis court. But with athleisure as street-wear being a thing done, the tank tops from the EleVen clothing line would look cute worn with a pair of jeans for a sporty casual style to just run errands.

… and why not pair the EleVen tank top with S by Serena Retro Fit Jeans in Light Wash from Serena Williams’ clothing line.

In an interview with Yahoo Sports, Venus Williams stated the she wants “women to feel confident and empowered to push their own limits and meet their goals” when they wear pieces from her clothing line. The website for Serena Williams’ clothing line also has affirmations of female empowerment and worth. The sisters have been doubles partners in tennis matches and it would be awesome for them to take their sister act into to the area of fashion.
The sister team could be powerful agents for positive change in areas like sustainability or fair trade – especially since the textile and garment industries heavily involve women as workers and producers of goods. And mutual care and support is integral to women’s empowerment. With their combined experience and expertise (Serena Williams also studied at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale) and passion for what they do, I would love to see the siblings join forces to take their efforts to the next level. But be it individually or in working together, we can expect great things from these champions.
