When I first saw photos of Florence Pugh’s outfit at the Deadline Contenders New York Panels, I thought, ‘There’s a lot going on here!’ But you first take notice of the boots. The green motif on the pants, yellow neck-tie and red velvet appliquéd booties would certainly take a fashionista to pull off. But I take it as a challenge to find the look for less,

Since I may not quite have full fashionista rank to coordinate all of that, I decided to put together a slightly tamer look and one that would fit a modest budget. Just about anyone can rock a pair of statement boots even if you have to choose more muted pieces in the rest of your outfit.

Of course, designer apparel and accessories are very nice to have. And many of us, when we can, do buy high-end and designer pieces that are usually wardrobe staples and that we can wear over many seasons. But in the mean time, one doesn’t have to spend a fortune to be stylish or fashionable. We can get inspired by celebrity style without having to spend like a celebrity. Read on to see my outfit idea and also see several affordable but fashionable statement boots, but first the luxe

The Luxe

Good design can be pleasing and great design can be exuberantly artistic. So even if they are beyond some of our budgets, it’s good to take a look at the pieces in Florence Pugh’s outfit.

The Look For Less

I like the ruffles and soft cream color of this Sandrene top paired with a boot similar to the Chloé Rylee boot. Details like the pleats and the soft drape of the sleeves go well with the floral appliqué of such a shoe for a look that is romantic and ornate. To show off a fabulous ankle boot or mid-calf boot, cropped pants or jeans are ideal. The beige color lets the boots take center stage! (Of course the safest way to go is denim.)

I chose this boot in ‘red’ to be closer to the celebrity style but considered the same boot style in ‘camel’ which is shown below in the image carousel.

And for jewelry, I like just a simple pair of classic gold hoops. The ruffles around the neckline and the ornateness of the boots prohibit too-fussy jewelry.

14k Yellow Gold 1.2 inch Round Hoop Earrings $98.00

There are many such ‘showcase’ worthy ankle boots and mid-calf boots. They come in so many colors, prints and patterns. Take a look at some I picked out that have a floral design. I’ve also added gold hoop earrings to put the finishing touches on this celebrity look for less.

You have to have experience or a certain panache to successfully mix prints in an outfit but just about anyone can pull off a statement piece! You can let your inner ‘star style’ shine!
