Giorgio Armani's retrospective exhibit, which covered more than 30 years of his work, concluded in Milan on Monday, culminating in a dazzling show that ended a 6 year tour.
At the close of the exhibit, Armani will place the outfits on view at his headquarters, and eventually donate them to the city of Milan.
Below are two reviews of the exhibit:
...winter collection that lit up his muted shades with a myriad of glistening sequins.
The collection had a dazzling, feminine tone, from sparkling ballerina footwear to knitted caps dotted with dewdrop crystals.
The show ended with a model wrapped in an evening gown of horizontally stitched Swarovski crystals and holding a tiny, matching purse.
Skirts are either loose and gathered at the hem, or elegantly slender. Jackets lose their blazer structure to become cropped with soft shawl collar or extra loose, resembling a duster coat

...all about experimentation in volume, meeting extremity in decoration.
Before open-mouthed wows from both Tina Turner and Italian beauty Ornella Muti, Armani finished his collection with a blindingly bright column composed of Swarovski crystals so reflective they made the eyes squint.
Swarovski partnered with Armani for this exhibition creating the Diamond Leaf, the exclusive crystal created for Armani, featured in fashion shown at the exhibition in the Triennale in Milan.
“Swarovski crystal brings a touch of magic to a dress, an ethereal quality, a lustre which never fails to captivate the attention.
It was therefore a pleasure to be asked by Helmut Swarovski to follow in the footsteps of Christian Dior in creating a new and unique crystal.” Armani stated.
