Audrina Patridge re-introduced her swimwear line Prey Swim on an episode of the MTV show The Hills: New Beginnings. Prey Swim originally launched in 2016 with the Resort 2017 Collection as the debut of the swim line. Patridge suspended her swimsuit line due to her divorce from professional BMX rider Corey Bohan. Therefore, this relaunch is also new beginnings for her swimwear line.
A glimpse of the relaunch was seen at a fashion show on a The Hills: New Beginnings episode. Members of The Hills cast lent their support of the fashion line’s relaunch by attending the Prey Swim Summer in December fashion show.

Audrina Patridge – Bikini Queen
Besides Audrina Patridge, many of her Hills co-stars have started clothing and lifestyle brands. For instance, Lauren Conrad launched LC Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari launched Uncommon James. On the Hills: New Beginnings episode, Patridge said she was always known as the “bikini queen on the beach”. Consequently, a swimwear line is a natural fit for the Southern California beach devotee.
In interviews she has spoken of her collection of over 1000 swimsuits. “I’m at the beach all the time, living in swimsuits and traveling the world to more beaches, and I’ve tried on so many different suits,” Patridge told WWD in 2016. “I can never find one that I love so I took patterns and styles I like plus elements from my adventures in Australia, Mexico and Costa Rica as inspirations to create my own. … it’s definitely a labor of love.”
As an illustration of travel adventure’s influence on design – one of my favorite pieces from the collection, the reversible one-piece swimsuit, the St. Tropez. The description for this suit tells of the inspiration of exotic locales.
The St. Tropez Swimsuit might be even better than a trip to the coast itself. This earth-toned bronze suit features a hint of shimmer with a cutaway neckline, keyhole at front, and tassel tie closures at neck and back. It also shows off the perfect hint of skin with cutouts at the sides. Paired with a black and white Moroccan-inspired lining, this sleek, double-paneled fabric makes you look even better than you already do. Prey Swim
Whether or not you actually vacation along the French Riveria, you will certainly look the part in the St. Tropez swimsuit – très chic!
The Meaning Behind the Name of the Prey Swim Fashion Line
The SoCal native not only incorporates her travel experiences in the design of the swimsuits but also her desire to bring attention to sharks as an endangered species. “I use details like molded shark’s teeth at the end of bikini strings and I hope to partner with a conservation group like Oceana on some things,” Audrina Patridge stated, also to WWD in 2016.
Designed with style and conservation in mind, the Bliss swimsuit bottoms feature shark tooth charms.
As a matter of fact, the name of the fashion line comes from Patridge’s interest and enthusiasm for sharks and their role in the ecosystem of the ocean.”Sharks are gorgeous, captivating creatures…. strong, capable, beautiful and empowering, which is my vision for our ‘Prey Swim’ girl.”
Style + Function
You can definitely tell when a designer/creator of a garment puts a great deal of thought into their wares, based on their experience. Function and fashion merge in a swimsuit bottom that active beach goers will appreciate.
“The Duck Dive bottoms are so different and no one has anything like them. They’re like a butt bra — they lift your cheeks. They’re so cute and so stylish and they literally will stay on if you surf. That’s why we named them “duck dive,” from the surfing term when you duck under wave.” She told People.com
Audrina Patridge Hopes to Inspire with her Clothing Brand
“The ultimate Prey girl is free-spirited, travels the world and lives in a swimsuit. She can be at the beach and just throw a skirt on and go to dinner and still look like she’s put together. She definitely has a little bit of edge. She starts her own trends, she doesn’t follow them.” People
On an episode of The Hills: New Beginnings, Patridge said she hoped to inspire her daughter Kirra Max – that she would see what work values are and what it means to create something. In addition, she also said, “I just really wanted to create a line from bottom up that was really me. It’s bringing me life again … and excitement.”
New beginnings, reinvigorated life, the rewards of work and creativity… sounds like something we can all be inspired by and get excited about!
