Charlize Theron strikes a confident pose – and she should. The actress looks amazing in a black skirt, white top outfit from the Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2020 collection. Charlize Theron, who was nominated for lead actress in Bombshell, attended the Oscars Nominees Luncheon in Hollywood. The jewelry she wore includes diamond tennis necklaces and diamond stud earrings by Tiffany & Co. The look is classic and chic – vintage inspired yet modern. The style is Audrey Hepburn-esque with the look of lilting, quick elegance. The black skirt white top outfit is reminiscent of the elfin, sprite lightness of Audrey Hepburn. The pixie haircut and the splash of color that the red lipstick provides, adds to the ethereal quality of the look.
The belted A-line skirt with side pockets and button front, worn with a white button-down top with short cuffed sleeves, is distinctive while remaining classic. The styling choices of a diamond tennis necklaces, diamond stud earrings, clutch purse and ankle strap pumps elevate the look to casual-dressy. The perfect balance for a fancy luncheon!

While some fashion commentators do not like the sleeve of this Dior white top, I disagree. The structured short kimono like sleeve is a little different in a good way. While you may quibble about the fit of the white top on Charlize Theron, the slight bit of structure goes well with the skirt volume.
I will concede that a sleeve with a little less volume or a better fit might have improved the look of this black skirt white top outfit. The fit of the white shirt on the model wearing the same Christian Dior skirt and top is better (pictured below). The line of the shirt sleeve is smooth – the model’s shoulders do not create bumps that interrupt the line of the sleeves.
But the accessories are spot on. Charlize Theron styled the look with a Christian Dior Oblique Saddle Clutch and with necklaces and earrings from Tiffany & Co. The shoes look very much like these black satin ankle strap Christian Dior Pumps in the image below.
Audrey Hepburn Style

Another option that doesn’t have pockets but does include a belt for a belted skirt look. The fabric in this black skirt is viscose with a raised brocade-like, crisscross pattern. This black skirt with a subtle pattern would look very chic with a classic, white button-down top.
